This is a subreddit for discussion of forking Bitcoin to allow a free-market and consent-based approach to Bitcoin's / Bitcoin Cash's progress. In Bitcoin Cash we brought together like minded people - users, developers, miners - to carry on the experiment that is Bitcoin. We stand ready to fork again should it become necessary to protect Bitcoin to ensure the option of peer-to-peer electronic cash can survive and thrive.

The US Department of Justice⚖️ (DOJ) and Homeland Security (DHS) seized a fraudulent website [coronaprevention.org] after its owner attempted to sell the domain on a hacker forum for #Bitcoin. The owner asked for $500 BTC in exchange for the domain.
Can the founders of BCH, BCHSV, and BCHABC be arrested and put on trial for market manipulation?
Question is in the title. I am not a big fan of Roger Ver or Craig Wright, but at the same time I think this is something that, in the world of stocks, would result in civil charges from the SEC and a separation of the company / project from its founder. Satoshi Nakamoto doesn't want his identity to be revealed. That's precisely why nearly 1 million bitcoins are in the Genesis Wallet. Now, he may make it known on his death-bed who he really is, but the level of absurdity that we are reaching with, "This is Satoshi's idea, and he didn't foresee this issue or that issue." is absurd. I would think that, at the very least, Craig Wright could be arrested on the basis of fraud. If he wants to prove he is the creator of bitcoin, all he has to do is log in to the Bitcoin.org forum's satoshi nakamoto account. /rant EDIT: For those of you wondering what I mean by market manipulation, they were essentially taking hashpower away from all of the more "mainstream" SHA-256 tokens (BCH, BTC) and throwing it at BCH SV and BCH ABC basically forcing each other to mine blank blocks that had no reward to them what so ever. This resulted in a tug-of-war to see which network would survive, and the "hashpower war" was won by BCH ABC. I understand there is no direct equivalent to this in the stock market, however eually scummy things have happened in the stock market. If anyone here is experienced with stocks and can name something similar happening, please humor us and point it out.
To me the issue is not what the block size limit should be. The issue is who gets to decide.
The Core Roadmap is actually very good in many respects IMHO. The critical problem with it is that it relies on an essentially political process (convincing the Core maintainer and bitcoin.org/forum administrators that there's a rough consensus) for raising the limit that gives Core contributors and forum administrators (e.g. Theymos) almost a total monopoly on deciding the limit value.

Full disclosure: I made BitLotto (www.bitlotto.com) so I may be biased ;) I'm wondering if my title is correct? I'll try to explain what BitLotto does and why it's secure. How it works: -All payments go to a single Bitcoin address. This ensure that it's impossible to fake how big the jackpot is. -Each payment is the ticket. Each payment in Bitcoin has an associated hash and that is the ticket. The ticket becomes permanent as part of the blockchain. -Jackpot can only go to the exact Bitcoin address that sent the payment. To play the users are informed to only purchase the tickets using Bitcoin running on their computer so this can be done -The end date for buying tickets is known in advance and the first Block timestamp to meet set criteria closes the draw -A few hours later, lottery numbers from the USA mega millions draw are gathered -A SHA256 hash is made from the block hash that had the desired timestamp plus the lottery numbers. SHA256(blockhash+lotterynumbers) -Using a predetermined formula the SHA256 hash is used to search all the transaction hashes of the lottery to find the winner -Once the winner is found it is only sent to the address that sent that payment I figure the only way to cheat would be to: -either cheat the USA mega millions lottery to get a desired number that you only know from a few hours earlier OR -make a payment right at the end and maintain MANY multiple forks for HOURS until the mega millions lottery is done. To maintain ONE fork for more than one block would be VERY hard. They would have to do many forks each consisting of probably 20 BLOCKS each! Does this make it the hardest lottery to cheat or fake the winner? Or is it the same as mega millions? Perhaps someone hacks mega millions computers to create a fake ticket? Would that be any easier or harder than hacking bitcoin? Because everything is actually stored in the Bitcoin network all the data is set and secure from tampering. To tamper the lottery you would have to change the whole network's blockchain. (I know of course I could steal the money (I'd be crazy to do it) but I was wondering if anyone here could think of any scenario were I could actually cheat without being noticed or if it is indeed the hardest to cheat lottery because of Bitcoin!) EDIT: I'm new to reddit.com but this seems like a cool place to talk! I've only really chatted in the bitcoin.org forum but here is pretty cool!! I'm looking for possibilities of rigging the results not eliminating all trust. It has to come into play at least once for actually following the specified rules for payment. EDIT2: I guess the biggest flaw noted is that I could be buying all the tickets and playing myself. I can't make the tickets win but by buying them all I could be increasing my chances. Anyone can do this in a raffle lottery. I could be doing that until I lose. Then run. It would be be noticed when I run but not until then. Because I can't prove what I'll do in the future and BitLotto is anonymous if that's the only weakness, I guess I'll have to live with it. I think the only way to show it's unlikely would be for others who play to come out and admit it. The more who do, and by looking at total tickets, it would show how unlikely it is that I'm playing myself to always win and run when I lose. I think many like playing it anonymously though. I was just hoping people here could take a look and find a flaw or something. I'm always trying to improve it. I want to run a fun Bitcoin game for everyone. I want an honest game that's fun! If anyone has ideas about how to do escrow securely I'd love to hear it!

Hello everyone. I created a new, Uncensored Bitcoin forum: btctalk.org. Anyone interested in joining as members, or joining the team and help the forum grow?
Hello everyone, I created a new forum: BTC Talk - https://btctalk.org. I noticed the complaints in the community about the censorship on Bitcoin Talk & /Bitcoin, so I decided to create a new forum. It is built on the same software as Bitcoin Talk (although with different design and more and better features, to prevent confusion), so people will be familiar with how the forum works. I think it's a bold step, especially because Bitcoin Talk is already quite established, but I hope people will join this new community. I am currently the only one working on the forum, so it is a small project. If people are interested in joining the team, please send me a PM. I don't require any financial contribution; just your time to help the community grow. You'll receive moderation rights, and also a percentage of ownership of the forum (we'll obviously have to work out these details). The aim is to create a completely uncensored Bitcoin forum. All the other forums in existence now belong to ''influential'' members of the community. BTC Talk will be a community made by ''common'' people who are interested in Bitcoin, not a community ruled and censored by the ''elite''. I hope to see some of you soon, and I appreciate your feedback! :)
